Cheers!

If past years are used as an indication not for some time yet (Mar-Apr) time frame.

When I received my offer last year it wasn't until mid-March and I believe it was part of the first-round of offers that went out. Consequently, if you don't make the first round you may be waiting until late-April for all the final offers to trickle out. You can try searching the messaging system for wherever you're located to see if any other offers have filtered out. I found mine on MCOIN a full week before I was actually notified about it.

I have a DWAN link to their schedule, which I will try to rustle up tomorrow.  If they stick to it, initial offers start to go out sometime this month.

DGMC has a DWAN page for In-Service Selection at http://hr.ottawa-hull.mil.ca/dgmc/engraph/InServiceSelection_e.asp

You can find everything from overviews of all the Programs to the competition messages, application submission requirements, and of course the ISS Annual Program Schedule.  Please take the schedule with a grain of salt however, as it seems to be more of a guideline than a hard and fast rule.

As a side note, I too am waiting to hear news as well, so I will be sure to post if I hear anything.

I was a bit, but not so much now. Offers went out last year around this time and neatly coincided with ROTP offers. I'm pretty sure that's not a coincidence (RMC gets to pick for both programs, might be a bottleneck) and ROTP offers have not gone out yet. So now I am waiting on the premise that they all should be released in or about the same date, and will get a little more anxious when ROTP starts to roll out.

As I stated above, the ISS schedule seems to be more of a guideline than anything. There could be a lot of factors playing into the "delay" that we don't know about (ie budget, SIP release, etc).  But yes, I agree, it would be easier I they said that offers would go out end Apr. I am sure no one would mind finding out early that they were accepted...

Good Luck!

Some units make their messages search/browseable (like MCOIN in Halifax/Shearwater) so you can see if any other offers came out. Like I said earlier, I'm pretty sure my offer came out in the second round and it was about this time last year.

My anxiousness comes and goes in waves.  I'm always expecting to hear something very soon.  I'll be sure to post when I hear something.  I applied for UTPNCM as a PSEL and am hoping to go to UNB this fall.  Good luck everyone!!

There's a search option somewhere on the main page (forgive me, I don't have access to it anymore) to search the messages. Just type 'UTPNCM' into the search field and it should start coming up with offer messages.

I believe everyone is still in the dark.  Been thinking about calling D Mil C 7 and disguising my voice, all I want to know is if I should be sitting on the edge of my seat now, or in a month.

I'm with you Luke.  I was fine right until I was found out I was promoted this year too.  Lots of questions and no answers....  I should go on leave, that will guarantee that the message will come in.

I am so glad to see that I am not the only one going a little crazy with the waiting game.  I may be a little off on the theory, but I think the messages for UTPNCM and ROTP come out around the same timeframe.  It makes sense because all the applications get forwarded to RMC for review so they can have their picks of the bunch before civie U offers get cut.  So naturally nobody would hear anything until RMC is done with the applications, and it would make sense for RMC to review all the applications at the same time.

It just so happens that UTPNCM Messages came out right around the same time that ROTP messages came out the last couple years, so if you start seeing a bunch of ROTP guys screaming about their excitement about being accepted it'll probably be safe to say that the UT messages are on their way too.  At least that's my theory, and that's what I am basing my waiting game on now.

I hope I'm right, because ROTP hasn't been released yet this year, but *apparently*, according to the ROTP 2011-2012 thread, things should start rolling out in the next couple weeks.

So I think I should go and ask my CO if I can have a few weeks stress leave...I don't have any annual left and can't wait until the 1st to take more...

Good luck to all, hope we hear soon!

I have fun reading your posts since a month now because i'm in the exact same situation ... the waiting game for UT message!  But last week I got tire of that and called D mil C 7 ( with my chain of cmdt authorisation  ;D) .  The guy told me that I will receive a offer in 2-3 weeks.

Good luck to all of you!

That looks a lot like "bump" to me  ;D

No, no word yet.  I was talking to one of our officers here who is waiting for a Post Grad message (also comes out of D Mil C 7-2).  They were under the impression from their Career Manager that there may be some budget issues delaying messages (including ours) even though they have been told verbally of their acceptance.  I offer that info merely as a speculative point and not as a statement of fact, but if the info provided is factual then it was mentioned that msgs should start coming out in the next week or two.

It's pretty much the same song everyone is singing - nothing yet but anytime now.  I will be sure to post on here if I find out anything for sure (ie if I get accepted).

Cheers,

nothing here in Gage. still waiting.

now here is a story for you. My Bro is an nurse officer stationned in Winnipeg who is good friends with the PSO there. The PSO sat on the board to UT. he told him that offers would only be starting at the end of April all the way till june. very late this year.

he doesnt know all the details but someting to do about the budget not being approved fully for funding the Civy U.

thats not encouraging news.

Man I LOVE how these things go.

I just personally got off the phone with D Mil C 7-2, so this is directly "out of the horses mouth".  Offers started going out this week.  Not next month, but right now.  I can't tell you why no one here has heard anything yet, I don't know that information.  But I CAN tell you that people are going to know very soon if they are accepted.

well im happy and frustated at the same time.

i just got accepted in Sigs o but at RMC. i never applied to go to it. told the PSO i DID NOT want to go. i am currently in a B of information system at UNB.

i was offered RMC with a choice of 5 degree.  math, physics, chemistry, space science or computer science. not one of them apply to my degree.

is there a way to counter this offer with going to a civi U or am i stuck with what i got. dont really want to go to RMC. hate the drill and the 2+ hour parades.

I have seen people get their UTPNCM messages changed but it requires some effort on your part.  You need to write an articulate memo/email outlining why it is the best interests of the CF for you to go to civvyU.  It could also be for compassionate reasons (ie child disability where care is set in place etc etc).  I probably wouldn't include the whole I hate parades bit if I were you ;)

The past few years their has been more of a push for UTPs to go to RMC so that is probably why you didn't get a choice.

True.  But if I was getting my education paid for, I don't think I'd be complaining too much.

I didn't want to go to RMC either and part of it was not wanting to wear a uniform at school and participate in military stuff outside of studies.  It certainly wasn't  my main reasons and by stating my reasons on my application in a clear and articulate manner was never even offered RMC.  If that is the only reason one doesn't want to go to RMC then I think it might be time to suck it up for a few years.

Wow. Good forums here.

I asked a simple question and had the grammar police, suck it up police and the be lucky what you have police all in one shot.

I never said i would not go to RMC. All i asked was is there a way to try and get it changed and whom i would ask to. Would going to the PSO be a good choice? And if i write a memo/email, who would i address it to? CoC, PSO?

man i happy with what i got just got a ton of ? and would like to have some answered.

You got your answer.  Any memo you write goes through your CoC and they will forward it.  I am sitting in the room right now with someone who has done it am basing my posts on their info.

As for the rest, your post looks like it was written by a kid with entitlement issues and the members jumped on it.  Despite what your intentions were this is the internet and we can't do know exactly what you would do unless you spell it out.  FWIW I wouldn't want to go to RMC either and most UTPs that I talk to say the same thing.

I got my offer a couple of weeks ago and  I have to go to RMC.  With my prior education I should only have to do the last 2 or 3 years (I have an Associates degree already).  I was quite happy about all of it, but everyone is starting to bum me out, including those on this site.  Is it really that awful there?  Is anyone in Otter Sqn now or graduated recently who can shed some light on the subject?  I can't see too many bad parts about getting paid $60000 a year to go to school for a few years.  So you have to wear a uniform...big deal.  It all seems a big step up from Field Amb lol.  BTW this being the new wussy generation, I have a hard time believing anyone is doing '2 hours of drill' anywhere, let alone RMC.

From the guys I know at Otter, besides the whole uniform thing they say they have it pretty good.  They are for the most part left alone and don't do as much of the military stuff as the rest of RMC does.

Chargersfan, there's no reason at all to be feeling bummed out.  Being paid your current pay to be a student for the next few years isn't a bad thing at all, previous associate degree notwithstanding.  Knowing a number of ROTP and UTPNCM members at RMC, I'm fairly confident that the amount of time you spend on the parade square is closer to two hours every other weekend, if that.  The days of hours of drill a day died when Royal Roads Drill Academy Military College closed in 1996.  If you try out for and are approved to a varsity sport, you will spend even less time on the parade square.  UTPNCMs in Otter Squadron have very few of the duties and activities that the ROTP cadets within the Cadet Wing have, so while not quite the same as if you were a stealth military student studying at CivU, I'm pretty sure you will have a pretty decent balance of academic, military and family life.

Im sorry for sounding like a wuss on my first post. I reread it and yes it sounded like a 2 year old.

I have accepted my offer and will "suck" it up, after all we are in the army. Reason why i sounded like that was i will need all the help in the world just for the study part and would not like to be bothered with other stuff. I got 19 years in and that was the worst case scenario but hey like everybody said, 60k a year to go to school, cant beat that.

Hey guys, congrats to all that have been accepted into the UT program.  Im currently at RMC in Otter Sqn just finishing up my first year.  I'll shed a little light on what our experience was like this last year.  There are times when we did quite a bit of parade practice, but it wasnt all year.  When we first got there in late Aug we had the arch parade.  Sept was probably the time when we were the most involved in parades and other college activites.  During this time the RO's are doing their FYOP which comes to an end on reunion weekend, which was the first weekend in Oct.  This is when all first years are formally welcomed to the college. The RO's got their cap badge and we got our coins.  So.....leading up to this there was quite a bit of parade practice, mostly after hours.  A couple times each semester there was also Commandant's weekends, which for Otter involved a parade on Sunday.   The second semester there was a lot less going on.  There was still a couple Commandant's weekends, but that was it.  From what I hear it gets pretty busy again in May.  Otter is pretty involved with prep training for summer courses (BMOQ, CAP etc) and grad parade.  At this point our academic year is done though.

The most difficult time was back in Sept.  You're getting adjusted to being in university full time, while giving up your time for parades and sports days.  For me, it got easier after the first couple of months.  If anybody had specific questions I may be able to answer them.  Good luck with your moves and hope to see you Aug.

I was informally notified that I was not selected for PSel.  Lots of different rumours floating around in cyber-space.  I have yet to receive a non-selection message, but I have started to pursue other options.

The 11/12 SIP was released (thanks Joe) and it indicates that there were many cuts to the budget.  For example, PSel went from three spots for UTPNCM to one.  Pilot was heavily slashed as well, they are only taking three UTPNCM applications along with 45 Skilled DEO's.  All of the other trades are in the situation.

Good luck to everyone.

Has anyone gotten/heard of any Pilot offers?  I know that we are down to 3 spots this year, but I know a few people with UTPNCM applications in this year and as far as I know, none of them have heard anything either way.  I heard a rumour that they are delayed slightly due to another board that has to sit, but that is of course, an unofficial rumour...

Anyone who has rec'd their offers to RMC, have you got a posting msg yet?  If anyone has been to RMC with UTPNCM in the last few years, can you give me an idea of when I should get my msg, and what the reporting time frame is approximately?

Cheers

My report date was 20 Aug or something like that for 1st year. Did the move 2nd week in Aug, but I had to do IAP first (summer '05), that's not supposed to happen anymore.

I just got my pilot offer.  I actually applied CEOTP but word is that program is going away, so was offered UTP instead.  Not a bad deal.  Very, very short notice to get in to a school, however, especially because I was finishing a QL6 course in Halifax when I got word.  This was my third attempt.

Going to a civy u.

Trying to work my BMOQ equivalency now, but all the links on the CDA website are broken.  Should I go through the PSO office?

edits follow:

Given the short lead time I had on this (I was notified at the end of Apr), the offer is really inflexible, and further complicated by my uh, "interesting" academic history.  Anyone have any hints as to who I could talk to?  Besides the desk at 7-2, I'm pretty sure I'm as far as I can get there.

I'm absolutely going to end up doing what the offer says, but the road there will probably involve some steps that could freak them out.  For instance, I'm not really applying to a school, I'm reregistering at my last one.  As a result I will end up in the program I left, which is not acceptable for pilot (BA).  I will then lateral over to the BSc - I have to get stuff like that past the guard dog at 7-2.  Long story short, I need a little slack and would like contact with someone who can cut it for me.

Don't worry about this issue, deal with it once your in school.  The last few years they have bulk submitted names to the CDA for equivalency anyway.  When you meet your SEM for the first time just mention you need a bypass.

Woo-hoo, I successfully begged my way back in to the University of Victoria.  I think to celebrate I'll make an appointment at clothing stores to trade all my Navy environmental stuff for Air Force stuff.

What sort of follow-up messages can I expect?  I'm on parental and my boss is on a house hunting trip, so contact with my unit is slightly tenuous.  My acceptance message allegedly went out.

Can I expect anything more from D Mil C?  There has to be at least a posting message.  Maybe they need the proof of university acceptance first (awaiting some kind of registration confirmation, even though the school charged my Visa...)?  So many questions and no one to ask.  Do I need to do an ILP?  How do I pay for tuition/fees/books etc?  And so on and so forth.  A month till I'm commissioned and there's still a lot to tie up.

Really uncomfortable without some sort of positive contact with anyone in the process.  Argh.

I can understand the anxiety but it isn't like it is the end of the world, just go into work and check your email and then email/call the contact on your acceptance message if there was nothing there.  Remember, no one else cares more about this then you and it behooves you to get the info you need not the other way around.

You will get a posting message if you are leaving the local area.  They will need proof of university acceptance before it goes out.  They contacted me through the DIN with my messages (cc'd me as the message went properly through my BOR).

No ILP
All books and tuition is done through your ULO (University Liaison Office) which will be dictated to you in your message.  They can be advanced if you so desire.  Once you get your message and contact your ULO office they will most likely send you the student guide which will answer all your questions and more.  I would send you a copy but I don't have it on this computer.

Thanks a lot for the response.  I'm a more relaxed now as you obviously answered a lot of my questions.

I haven't checked my email since I went to Halifax in December, so I'm justifiably frightened to open it (possibly life-threatening explosive pressure contained).
